Nokia Lumia 630 Video Review

Nokia Lumia 630 is newest budget smartphone, is impressive, particularly for the price. This entry-level Windows Phone smartphone powered by latest Windows phone8.1,  is aimed at budget-conscious buyers or those getting a smartphone for the first time.

Featuring an array of bright, replaceable back covers, the Lumia 630, when left lying on a table, can easily be mistaken for the iPhone 5c. But it’s Nokia, not Apple, that pioneered the use of brightly coloured phones with its Lumia line-up. And the colours complement this delightful phone.

The 134g Lumia 630 feels good in the hand and, although its body is plastic, Nokia has managed to make it feel more premium than similar smartphones — yes, Samsung, we are looking at you. The back cover has a matte texture and the sharp edges offer a good combination of grip and comfort. The finish is best described as stylish but simple.

There are only two external buttons on the Lumia 630 — the volume rocker and the power button are placed on the right side of the phone, putting them in the right place for easy thumb access.

Unfortunately, Nokia has removed the dedicated camera button, something that was available on its predecessor.

Because this is an entry-level smartphone, you can’t expect the Lumia 630 to knock your socks off in terms of hardware performance, but it fares surprisingly well given what’s inside. Applications run as expected, with only a few processor-intensive games causing problems.

Though the company has not really mentioned the place of the event, with sand dunes and desert in the picture, we are certain that it will be held in Abu Dhabi. We, anyways, were expecting the launch to happen around that time considering that Nokia usually hosts its annual Nokia World event around that time of the year.

Nokia lunched Lumia 925 and Lumia 625 in India offically

After a long wait, Nokia has launched the Lumia 925 in India for Rs 33,499. Of course we had been expecting this for quite some time, and the phone had gone up for pre-order with online retailers. In addition to this, even the Lumia 625 has been launched in India for Rs 19,999. Even this smartphone went up for pre-order with e-retailers in the country.

It goes without saying that the Lumia 925 has been the most awaited Windows Phone for Indian customers for sometime especially since its official global unveil in May. The Lumia 925 marks a departure from the polycarbonate industrial design language that has become a signature trait of Nokia’s Windows Phone portfolio. Instead, for the first time the company has used an aluminium chassis in conjunction with a polycarbonate cap for the back. This has resulted in the thinnest Lumia smartphone which measures 8.5mm and is starkly lighter than the Lumia 920 at 139 grams.

Nokia 6" phablet with 1080p display and powered by Snapdragon 800

The stars are slowly aligning for a 6" 1080p Nokia phablet with Snapdragon 800 power. The information is pretty circumstantial, but it's there – in a Bluetooth SIG filing and from data collected by AdDuplex.

AdDuplex collects stats on Windows Phone handsets and found in its logs a few unofficial Nokia devices like the RM-937, RM-927 and RM-940. RM-937 reported a scale factor (a measurement showing the relation between screen resolution and size) of 150, which is what 720p phones report. However, Nokia doesn’t have 720p devices, only WXGA (1280 x 768 instead of 1280 x 720).

Something BIG to be announced tomorrow by Nokia

Nokia has a big, BIG announcement for tomorrow and is giving us pretty short notice. Whatever it is, it will be unveiled tomorrow morning in London (9am UK time, 8am UTC). There's still plenty of time to guess, except all we have to go on is an orange ("sunset orange", according to an online color chart) back with the Nokia logo engraved.

Nokia can be pretty sneaky with these things, like the solid yellow background with black oval that turned out to be the loudspeaker of the Asha 501.
