Nokia confirms to hold event on Oct 22 event in Abu Dhabi

Nokia Confirming various speculations about the launch date of the buzz making Lumia 1520 phablet, Nokia has finally announced to hold an event on October 22. Though the company has not really mentioned the place of the event, with sand dunes and desert in the picture, we are certain that it will be held in Abu Dhabi. We, anyways, were expecting the launch to happen around that time considering that Nokia usually hosts its annual Nokia World event around that time of the year.

The Finnish company has posted an image on its official twitter account stating that they will share some new innovation on the aforementioned date. And for those who doubt the launch of the Lumia 1520 in particular, the “innovation” in the tweet certainly refers to its new innovations which are its first ever phablet as well as tablet at that event.

Just to give you a brief about the product details leaked so far, the Lumia 1520 will don the iconic polycarbonate unibody, come with a 6-inch 1080p display and be powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory. Then there will also be a 20-megapixel camera with shooting capabilities at 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel resolutions simultaneously, just like the Lumia 1020 could do. Other features will include a microSD support, a nano-SIM card slot and Microsoft’s GDR3 update. And while stylus has become an important part of this big phablets like Sony Xperia ZU and Samsung Galaxy Note 3, there is no surety on whether Lumia 1520 aka Bandit will also support the same.

Though most of the specs have already leaked via various sources, we are waiting for the event more to know that how exactly will Nokia price the device.
