BlackBerry to launch Q5 in India on July 16

Yesterday we reported that BlackBerry would be launching the Q5 in India on July 16 for Rs 25,000, and now the company has sent out invitations to the media for an event on the very same day. This basically confirms that the Canadian company will be launching the Q5, which will become its cheapest BB10 powered smartphone.

As of now, we have no official details on the price, but considering the feature set Rs 25,000 does not seem far fetched.

Specs wise, the Q5 features a QWERTY keyboards that is coupled with a 3.1-inch 720×720 pixels LCD touch screen. It is powered by the dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Plus processor clocked at 1.5GHz, which also powers the more high end Z10 and Q10 smartphones. There is also 2GB of RAM.

It also has a 5-megapixel camera and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded via a microSD card that supports up to 64GB of memory. There is also a big 2,180 mAh battery.
