Sony Xperia Honami images leaked online

We have heard a good deal about Sony’s Honami and though it may have missed the Mobile Asia Expo 2013, rumors haven’t stopped trickling in. Now, the first real photo of the Honami or the Xperia i1 as it also known has been spotted by AndroidCentral posted on Brazilian blog Techtudo.

The photo shows the Honami placed between the recently unveiled Xperia Z Ultra and the Xperia ZL. From the looks of it, the device seems to follow the same ‘Omnibalance’ design language as other recent Xperia devices, a 5-inch or thereabouts display and a glass-back similar to the Xperia Z.

Talking of the specifications, from what we know so far the Honami is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 800 chipset and features a huge 20-megapixel rear camera with 2/3” Exmor RS sensor, Xenon flash, Mobile BIONZ image processing, Cyber-shot camera UI, a 2.2-megapixel camera at the front, 32GB of internal memory that can be expanded using a microSD card, S-Master MX Mobile Audio Amplifier and a 3,000mAh battery with an improved STAMINA mode.

The device is said to run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean under a new Xperia UI and according to the report it works like a charm without any crashes.

Sony is holding a press event in early July and perhaps we might see the company launch the phone. That said, the Honami is in for stiff competition as Nokia will be launching the 41-megapixel PureView camera equipped Windows Phone on July 11
