Apple is expected to launch the next iPad sometime later this year, but it seems that photos of prototypes are already leaking. Photos have surfaced on chinese social network Sina Weibo suggesting that the next iPad will have a design similar to the iPad mini. This means it will also be thinner and will have a slimmer bezel. This was first spotted by PhoneArena. Notably, the rear camera placement seems different from the iPad mini.
We have already seen cases for the fifth iPad appear on the web that suggest it will be 15 percent slimmer than the current model and will have an additional microphone, which suggests a dramatic redesign. In addition to this, we can also expect the standard incremental updates like a new A7 processor, and a 8-megapixel camera. All this is expected to cost the same as the current model which is $500 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model.
