Apple unveils iPhone 5c

The much awaited Apple iPhone 5C has finally been launched. The handset will be available in 5 color variants and unfortunately like other iPhone devices this one too doesn’t fit into the budget category.

The iPhone 5C will cost $99 for the 16GB version and $199 for the 32GB version (with contract) in the US. Without the contract (Unlocked version) the same will be available for approx $549 and $649 this when converted to INR it comes to over Rs. 34,000 and over Rs. 40,000. For now a budget friendly iPhone or a cheaper iPhone is still a distant dream.

The Apple iPhone 5C weighs just 133 grams with an 8.9mm thickness. The screen is 4 inches supporting resolution of 1136×640 pixels with 326ppi and what Apple calls is as the ‘Retina Display’. The handset will be available in Green, Yellow, White, pink and Blue color variants.

iPhone 5C also flaunts a 1.2 megapixel camera on the front and another 8 megapixel camera (iSight) on the rear. It is an auto focus camera with LED flash support. Full HD video recording (with video stabilization) and playback is supported.

5C is powered by an A6 chipset and houses a single Nano SIM. This handset runs on the iOS7 OS. There are proximity, accelerometer, light and gyro sensors. The built-in Li-ion rechargeable battery gives a talk-time of up to 10 hours on 3G networks and up to 10 hours internet usage on a 4G network.

Other features are 4G, 3G, GPS with GLONASS / A-GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. There is still time for this handset to hit the Indian stores but most of you will be keen to know the Apple iPhone 5C price in India.

Apple unveils the iPhone 5s with Touch ID fingerprint scanner

Just as expected, the newly introduced Apple iPhone 5s looks the same on the outside (if you don't count the new white with gold/champagne color option). It still has the same thin 7.6mm profile and it still weighs merely 112g. However it comes with a number of changes under the hood where pretty much all the work has gone into this time around.

ip5s

The iPhone 5s makes use of a radically re-engineered new chipset, called A7, which is twice as fast in CPU and GPU computations as the one in the iPhone 5.Based on 64-bit architecture for the first time, the new iPhone 5s is said to be up to 40 times faster than the original iPhone with graphics being up to 53x faster. iOS 7 is now a 64-bit OS, but it's backward compatible with all the currently available 32-bit apps.

iOS 7 to be launched on Sep 10

September 10 is the date we’re currently marking in the diaries for the iPhone 5S and 5C reveal, and that may have just been reinforced by a claim that we’ll see the release of iOS 7 that very same day.

According to an email sent to developers from Nuance, the company behind Siri, the general availability date for iOS 7 is set for September 10.

The Next Web contributing writer Owen Williams posted the below email from Nuance to his personal blog, it reads:
As you are probably aware, iOS 7 GA will be released on September 10th.
The NDEV Program has pre-qualified that SpeechKit 1.4.5 works properly on iOS 7, but we encourage you to conduct own testing to ensure that when the upgrade happens, your Nuance speech services continue to work seamlessly.

It asked developers using its API to conduct testing to ensure that their services work on iOS 7 even though its SpeechKit 1.4.5 is pre-qualified to work properly on iOS 7. Nuance is the voice recognition focused company which has also worked on Siri, Apple’s intelligent voice assistant.

Historically, Apple has released iOS Golden Master versions to developers on the same day as the announcement of new iPhones, giving developers time to test their apps with the final version of the new iOS before its release it to the general public a couple of days before the launch of the new iPhone.

This Apple iPhone 5S has had its plastic panels on the back installed and they appear to be white – the lighting in the photo isn't great but the panels really don't look gold-colored.

Compare budget iPhone with iPhone 5

The rumor mill just won’t let it go - a brand new batch of “budget iPhone” photos has cropped up and it compare the (supposedly) upcoming device with the current iPhone 5. Many such photos have already been debunked.

The budget iPhone is plastic, colorful plastic at that, and has the same exact arrangement of buttons, ports and other doodads as the iPhone 5. The size of the two pictured devices is virtually the same, so it’s not just a plastic back cover.
